Mike Bezos, father of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is looking to hire a CEO to run the family office Aurora Borealis, tasked with overseeing the vast wealth and complex assets held by the Bezos family.
The move reflects a shift from the more passive management of family assets toward a professional, institutional approach. The expanded team will likely include a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to manage diversified holdings beyond Amazon.
Aurora Borealis was initially established in 2020 to manage the wealth of Mike and his late wife Jacklyn. With asset complexity rising and multiple family branches to support, the hiring of executive leadership is seen as essential for long-term stewardship.
