Actor Anya Singh has responded to persistent rumours that Aryan Khan did not actually direct his debut series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. In a candid statement, she dismissed such claims as unfair attempts to undermine his work.
Anya highlighted Aryan’s dedication and creative vision, noting that he led a young team, stuck by his ideas, and fully managed the project from start to finish. “He knew there’d be conversations and chatter, but he did not question his vision at any point,” she said.
She also addressed criticisms about his lineage. As the son of Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan enters a space already aware of expectations and scrutiny. But Anya insists Aryan has earned recognition on his own terms:
“People just want an opportunity to bring another person down… He worked really hard — from 7 in the morning to 11 PM, his energy never dropped.”
With contributions as writer, showrunner, and director, Aryan’s role in The Ba**ds of Bollywood* is a central part of the series’ identity.
