Google Brings Pixel-Exclusive AI Photo Editing to All Android Phones

Google is expanding its “Ask Photos” feature—once limited to Pixel devices—to all eligible Android smartphones. This AI-powered tool enables users to edit photos by simply describing the desired changes via voice or text, eliminating the need to find specific editing tools manually.

How “Ask Photos” Works

  • In the Google Photos app, users will find a “Help me edit” option in the editor. Tapping it lets users describe edits like “brighten the image” or “enhance the background”, and the AI interprets and applies those changes.

  • The feature is powered by Gemini and aims to simplify photo enhancement using natural language.

  • To ensure content authenticity, Google is introducing C2PA Content Credentials, which help indicate whether an image has been edited via AI.

This move broadens access to advanced AI editing tools across more Android users, making creative photo edits more intuitive and accessible.
