Asaduddin Owaisi Launches Independent Campaign in Bihar Amid INDIA Bloc Exclusion

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has commenced his election campaign in Bihar’s Seemanchal region, initiating a three-day ‘Seemanchal Nyay Yatra’ starting Tuesday. This move comes after the opposition INDIA alliance, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, did not extend an invitation to AIMIM for the upcoming state assembly elections, slated for November 2025.

Owaisi had previously expressed interest in joining the Mahagathbandhan, the RJD-led alliance, and had reached out to its leaders. However, despite multiple attempts, including sending letters, AIMIM did not receive a favorable response, leading to the party’s decision to contest independently.

The Seemanchal region, known for its significant Muslim population, is considered a strategic area for AIMIM. Owaisi’s campaign aims to address local issues and forge new alliances, signaling a shift towards regional political dynamics.

AIMIM’s decision to go solo in Bihar’s electoral landscape marks a notable development in the state’s political arena, potentially influencing the balance of power in the upcoming elections.
